Heading Food Distribution Program and Free Medical Camp in Iinatar, Raksirang-6 Rural Municipality

On October 17, 2024, the Nepal Little Flower Society, in partnership with Scouts Bonne e.V, Shanti Med, and Divya Jyoti Organization Nepal, organized a Food Distribution Program and Free Medical Camp in Iinatar, Raksirang-6 Rural Municipality. Due to road blockages from recent floods, the event was relocated to Kumbitada, a riverbank area about 5-6 kilometers before the original site. The vehicle carrying the supplies could not cross the river because of large boulders. The new location was two hours away via hilly roads and required more than a dozen river crossings. Despite these challenges, the program aimed to provide much-needed food and healthcare support to the local community, demonstrating the commitment and cooperation of the participating organizations and volunteers. Food Distribution Program: The Food Distribution Program supported 120 families in Chaimara by supplying essential food items. Each family received a bag of rice and two kilograms of lentils to help meet their nutritional needs. Scouts Bonne e.V and the Nepal Little Flower Society, along with the Divya Jyoti Organization Nepal, coordinated the efforts to ensure the distribution ran smoothly. The team organized the process efficiently, ensuring that every family received their supplies in a timely and orderly manner. Free Medical Camp: In addition to the food distribution, a free medical camp was set up to provide healthcare services to the villagers. Dr. Ruth, along with a team of three doctors and five medical staff, treated 90 patients, offering free consultations and distributing necessary medicines. The camp was led by Sr. Miriam from the Divya Jyoti Organization Nepal, ensuring that the medicines provided addressed the most common health issues in the area. This initiative greatly improved access to healthcare for the community, meeting their immediate medical needs.
